Part of living is to understand. We strive to make sense of all sorts of things: math, science experiments, friendships, politics - the list goes on.
Here's the thing. As human beings we want to know. We ask questions, we forever search. Sometimes those searches meet with great success, and other times failure.
But the failure is a necessary part of life.
So is the sadness.
I would not be the teacher I am today if I had not received a D in sixth-grade English. (No, my dear students, I am not kidding!)
I understand what it's like to struggle. I understand life better because I failed.
